CST Touching The Brain: Stimulating Self-Correction Through the Glial Interface

CST Touching the Brain: Stimulating Self-Correction - Glial Interface
Just inside the bony cranium we all have billions of star-shaped cells in our brain. Brain stars are part of a family of cells called “glia.” Glial cells are major regulators of nervous system development, structure and function. They are involved in all aspects of nervous system health and pathology. Glia and neurons create our inner universe of sensation, perception, memory, and action. Reaching inward…we can gently touch them.
How do craniosacral therapy (CST) techniques reach into the brain or spinal cord?
Is there a biomechanical pathway through which CST corrective techniques are transmitted from a practitioner’s hands into the depths of the central nervous system (CNS)?
If so, what cells form this corrective pathway, what do they do, and how do they help CNS healing and function?
The answer to all of these questions may reside in glia.
The craniosacral system connects directly to the glial cell matrix of the brain and spinal cord. This connection is a powerful route by which you can use CranioSacral Therapy glial technique to improve nervous system structure, function, healing and health.

Testimonials from the inaugural CTTB1 2013 seminar:
"A breakthrough class for the CST curriculum! Tad has transformed the complexities of this work into the simplest techniques that produce profound changes! Jaw dropping animations!"
"I LOVED this class! Tad's class is presented with thoroughness, intelligence, and as importantly, heart. This body of work is the next frontier!"
"Tad has an ability to take complex structures and topics and bring them to an easy to understand way of working. Treatment becomes simple, beautiful and creative. Can’t wait for more from Tad!"
"This material is not only accessible, but fun!"
"Bring your curiosity and your hands to this seminar. You and your practice will never be the same. This is an exciting and beneficial journey for both clients and therapists."
"I was intrigued when I read about the Touching the Brain class. I had heard of glial cells, but I wasn't sure whether I had the background or experience needed to understand and use this interface with CranioSacral Therapy. I'm so glad I took the class! Tad's explanations and illustrations were so clear, I was able to grasp the material and begin using the techniques as soon as I returned to my practice. My clients and I have been thrilled with the results."
Testimonials from the CTTB1 October 2015 seminar
"True to the philosophy of his mentor, Dr. Upledger, Tad has a gift for teaching vastly complex molecular structures and processes and simplifying it enough to easily get it "into our hands." His great humor, easygoing manner coupled with his artistic ability and talent for animation of his artwork, make it really easy for an average learner to understand. This new work has the potential to deepen and bring about a more profound level of healing for your clients, from newborns to adults."
"Run, do not walk to this class. It helped to solidify, integrate and synthesize the material I’ve been learning in other classes. Tad is so organized, knowledgeable and supportive that it made learning fun and easy."
"This work is Upledger 2.0 the next generation, and way better than “Star Trek: Next Generation.” This work honors all of Dr. Upledger’s work while expanding it to the next generation."
"I have done many different therapies and felt a piece was missing. I think this is it! Wow…what amazing work! It is by far the best class I have ever taken."
"CTTB1 is a natural, logical evolution of CranioSacral Therapy as Dr. Upledger presented it. Not since I took CS1 over 30 years ago have I found such potential and excitement within the work. Tad Wanveer worked alongside Dr. John for years, and I found myself in CTTB1 thinking that this CranioSacral approach embodies the ecologist's maxim, "Think globally, act locally" as we touch a small part with intention, effecting change upon the whole.
Two days before the class, I'd had an annual physical exam, and was measured and weighed. During one class practice session relating to embryonic development of the spinal cord, as we worked with what could be called "shadow imprints" of the transient radial glia, while my partner worked posterior, I met and matched her work anterior, since we are 3-dimensional beings. When I got off the table, my thorax was visibly different, more even and expanded. I felt taller. We literally re-formed a zone of my spinal cord in which there had been a compression since my in utero development, which Dr. Upledger had noted in my ADV1 in the 1990's.
Yesterday, I went back to my doctor's office to be re-measured, to verify the truth of what I was feeling. I had gained 3/8 of an inch in height, as my thorax had "un-crumpled" with the work! Dr. John taught us to keep our minds and our hearts open to all possibilities of healing. My own experience with CTTB1 reinforces his words. I am filled with gratitude for this work, its evolution, its potential to help us bring forward more of the good, the true, the beautiful within the human beings we touch."
Ongoing CTTB1 Testimonials
"Yesterday I treated a 28 yr old, long term client (with significant developmental delays). He had never been able to write, copy, or trace with any writing tool (his entire life). Session was basically the 2nd full session of using the glial curriculum.....after which he ran to his mom in the waiting room excited to tell her about the movie he watched (during his session). He then initiated and carried out, finding paper and copying the title down so they could get it from the library. His mom's jaw was on the floor, exclaiming, "That is the most writing he has ever done in his entire life!!" He copied, ‘Beauty and the Beast’. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. THIS. WORK!!!!"
"It works! Used it on client, 67 years, had multiple strokes. Lost short term memory etc. After each session he regained more normal thought function and returned to work!!! I have only had one course and just followed basic protocol and it still worked."
“I was amazed how much I was able to use the work from CTTB1 already this week in my PT clinic. I saw wonderful results and got very positive feedback. It is a great class when a student can come home and immediately use new skills without having to re-digest the class first. I also worked on two CranioSacral therapists for their routine appointments and both wanted to know what I was doing that felt so different from my usual CranioSacral Therapy. Then, to my surprise I was able to explain it to them without the study guide, text or handouts! Today, one of my adult patients said to me while I was treating her, ‘OK, your hands are in the same places you usually have them but I can feel this so much more. Is this something new?’ ”
January 2017 CTTB1 Dallas; Feedback Posted on Social Media
"Really enjoyed it a lot although I was processing a bit during class with all the great brain work. But I have been using it with my clients, and wow. The feedback I get during and after sessions is amazing. And I am just a beginner with it. The energy of the class is still with me, and everything that happened in my brain (thanks to some great therapists) is transmitting. I just got my symbol book, so I am going to go through everything again in a few days to take it to another level. I have taken on some case clients with ADHD, concussions, alcoholism to see how this work can support them. Very excited. And I will say- that I feel like my work is more subtle and I am better at listening now. I realized how exciting this all is and how much moved through me..."
"Tad uses images to represent each of the cell type or processes you work with, and made it all into a handy flip chart for practicing."
"Transformative work. And we can take the method anywhere in the body, extracellular space, perivascular, perineural. Big fun! And clients can feel the shift in intention quite keenly."
"It has changed the depth of thought when my hands are placed. I got the symbols book as well. He said we might start noticing words bubble up and that is beginning with me. I am grateful for this cutting-edge knowledge."
Testimonials from the CTTB2 January 2019 seminar
"This class integrates so well with our Brain Speaks, Immune Response and Cranial Nerve classes, offering therapists a comprehensive approach to working with the central peripheral nervous systems with great precision."
"This course will help me take the quality and depth of my healing practice to another level to include more for those people with trauma and gut/mind dysfunction."
