Are you hesitant to incorporate imagery or to engage your client in conversation during your cranial sessions? Are you unsure about how to begin the process, or perhaps afraid you lack the skills to follow up once you begin? Then this class is specifically designed for you.
You may have heard Dr. John compare imagery and dialoguing to "talking to yourself". Essentially, SomatoEmotional Release Technique: Mastering the Inner Physician (SERTIP) helps you better understand how to successfully incorporate this powerful method into your sessions. This course integrates CST with what Carl Jung called "active imagination" - a way to bridge the gap between the non-conscious and the conscious. Along with imagery and conversation, active imagination can include dream work and art. All of these things can go a long way in helping you to know yourself better and in so doing, know how to help your client better.
This class will focus on combining various Gestalt techniques from Fritz Perls, with Roberto Assagioli's Psychosynthesis ideas. You will learn how to actually become the objects that appear in your personal sessions, to recognize the foreground and background in a given scenario, to become more aware of being in the here and now. Most importantly, this experiential approach will help you identify and explore your various inner characters or "subpersonalities".
Discovering and integrating the various characters that live within us can be vital in helping us become more authentic, understanding human beings. As course developer Stan Gerome has said many times throughout the years. "The most valuable tool a therapist can bring to a session is a more integrated therapist".
We hope you join us in this fascinating and revealing journey in allowing the psyche to speak.
Hi y'all! I took SERTIP last weekend...it hadn't been on my radar at all until Avadhan Larson raved about it at another class recently. And one of the TAs had taken it and raved about it. Oh.My.God. It's a fabulous class, it really is. Stan Gerome has some very simple dialoguing techniques that are very, very profound. It's not a dialog technique to use on anyone, he says, but for those clients who want to get in there and get some really deep answers, it's amazing. Plus, we got to bring colored pencils to class!! It was seriously fun, and because it's an upper-level class, it drew in an *amazing* group of students. I had so much fun in class...and had so many fun dinners with other students. Really, guys, if you love the work, you gotta check this one out. ~ Amy Hanson LMP, CST, December 2016
I just finished taking "Mastering The Inner Physician" with Stan Gerome here in NY. What an incredible teacher what an incredible class! Each and every student shifted in personal consciousness for their best authentic self. We all agreed that our clients are going to benefit more. I seriously recommend taking this class before Advanced Level. Having taken Advanced 1 and 2 - I feel I would've gotten more out of those classes if I had the skills I learned in this class. I urge you to take this class with Stan Gerome. Definitely a life monumental event. Thank you Mr. Gerome. ~ Yamil Sarabia, May 2015
Stan's class is one of my top two favorite CST classes. I got a much deeper understanding of the SER model as developed in SER2. More importantly to me was the self work done that helped me grow in my personal role as well as therapist role. Stan holds a learning space that is supportive and fun. ~
SERTIP was by far the best UI workshop I have ever attended! The knowledge and hands-on skills presented by Stan Gerome helped rid me of any hesitation to use imagery and dialogue with my clients. But far beyond that, the skills I learned helped me to finally 'hear' my own inner physician. Listening to our own inner physician helps us find a clear path to reach our highest human potential, and as CST therapists, this is the best gift we can give our clients. Stan Gerome does not put on any pretenses, he shows us the 'human' side of himself by sharing parts of his own healing journey. As a student in this class, that made me feel brave enough not to hold back while doing my own work on the table. As a result, the work I did on myself in this class was deeper and more profound than in any class I've ever taken! We are so fortunate to have such a gifted teacher! ~

I want to thank you and your team of assistants for a great class, an enlightening class and one that I will not soon forget. I believe this course could definitely be a retreat of sorts for CST persons at any time in our journey. The class offers so much inner reflection and hands-on work and for me, it is a welcome break from so much technical found in many other courses. I loved it and I loved your down to earth presentations to help each of us attain a higher vibration. Thank you for sharing your journey with each of us also. Another 20, 30, 40 years and I will have all this “stuff” sorted out. Take care of you my young man. You are valuable to so many and to us young CST explorers. Have a great weekend and blessings for your continued journey. ~ Susan M. Dykes, April, 2015
To go deeper with your clients in CST/SER you have to be willing to first go there yourself. SERTIP reviews techniques from SER1 for communicating with your clients and then some! During the hands on portion of this class working with fellow practitioners you get the opportunity to learn and grow both as the therapist and as the client. You will experience first hand how the process releases deep seeded issues from the lower conscious which you may not have even been aware of or dealt with before. The process itself is the healing. I highly recommend this class for any CranioSacral Therapist who wants to take themselves and their work to the next level of awareness, richness and release. You are truly learning from a Master when you train with Stan Gerome. ~ Darleen Haupt, BCPP, CST, RM, LMT, May, 2015
