The Mission of the Dr. John E. Upledger Foundation is to support the overall therapeutic philosophies and visions of its founder, Dr. John E. Upledger. (1932-2012). The developer of CranioSacral Therapy, Dr. Upledger was once named America's next wave of innovators by TIME magazine.
The Foundation mission includes education, supporting and developing existing and new innovative therapeutic programs and research, providing treatment for those in need, and promoting awareness of manual therapies. The work of the Upledger Foundation includes areas such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Concussions, Autism, Healthy Aging, Dolphin Assisted Therapy and much more.
John Matthew Upledger "JM" (1960-2017), the son of Dr. Upledger, had a personal vision to carry on the legacy and work of the Foundation. JM was a true entrepreneur and successful businessman. He started his lifelong career in the Upledger mail room in 1986, was recognized for his natural leadership skills early on and then quickly promoted through the ranks. While still very young, he was promoted to the position of CEO of Upledger Institute International's worldwide comprehensive continuing education and manual therapy training programs, product lines, Foundation and Clinic. A graduate of Haslett High School (Haslett, Michigan) and a Michigan State University (MSU) alumnus, John Matthew Upledger had a personal vision and passion for education and the field of healthcare. To honor and memorialize his visionary spirit, scholarships will be awarded annually to graduating seniors from Haslett High School going to Michigan State University.
Student applications were accepted starting in Fall 2021.
