This exciting new book is now available.

Pediatric Manual Therapy: Visceral and Neuromeningeal Manipulation - Volume 1 by Jean Anne Zollars, PT, DPT, MA, BI-D, is a two-part series that adapts the profound manual therapies developed by French osteopath Jean-Pierre Barral for newborns, babies, and young children. These books provide a comprehensive guide for manual therapists aiming to enhance their care of pediatric patients.

What You'll Learn

  • Treating Common Pediatric Conditions: Gain insights on addressing issues like reflux, colic, tongue tie, gassiness, and constipation. Learn to differentiate whether the visceral distress is rooted in organ dysfunction, the autonomic nervous system, cranium, fascia, or a combination of these structures.
  • Autonomic Nervous System Dysregulation: Discover methods to assess and treat babies and children experiencing trauma-related autonomic nervous system dysregulation, presenting as irritability, sleep difficulties, constant crying, hyperactivity, reflux, or lack of eye contact with caregivers.
  • Specific Pediatric Conditions: Understand the assessment and treatment of pediatric patients with cerebral palsy, torticollis, plagiocephaly, prematurity, medical trauma, and developmental delays.
  • Embryology and Neuromotor Development: Distill complex information on embryology and neuromotor development into concise, applicable knowledge.
  • Tissue-Guided Treatment: Emphasize the importance of letting the baby’s or child’s tissues guide the treatment process, especially crucial for nonverbal children.
