Description: The goal for this class is to teach you how to better help the immune system perform its magic. To accomplish that, you'll learn how to communicate with different cell types to find out how you can help them improve their performance -- especially when invading microorganisms gain a foothold.
You will learn to directly palpate the cells and molecules of the immune system, and to map inflammation in the body. You will also learn to determine if that inflammation is chronic or acute, and to gain some insight into what is causing that inflammation.
Due to the on-line format in which this class will be taught, all practice sessions will involve palpating and treating yourself, not a partner. This has the advantage of improving your skills at self-treatment and evaluation. The skills you develop doing this self-palpation will be immediately applicable to the treatment of your clients.
YOU WILL BE PROVIDED THE ON-LINE ACCESS INFORMATION 5-6 DAYS PRIOR TO THE COURSE. Please respect the integrity of the work and the program, and the privacy of participants and presenter/s. No still or video screen captures are permitted during this program.
Advance Preparation: Required Reading: Understanding and Working with the Immune System Trifold Reference Chart, available at http://shop.iahe.com/Product-List/Charts-and-Posters/Understanding-and-Working-with-the-Immune-System-Trifold-Reference-Chart and How the Immune System Works by Lauren M. Sompayrac PhD, available at http://shop.iahe.com/Product-List/Health-and-Wellness/How-the-Immune-System-Works. Also, we have a introductory video from 2020 that is very informative and enjoyable. It is approximately an hour long, and we encourage you to review in advance. https://www.upledger.com/lp/intro-csir.php
